Car Magnet & Magnetic Sign

Preparation, Use & Care

Q. Do vehicles need special preparation before applying auto magnets?
A. Simple, both the vehicles surface and the black magnetic side of the sign should be clean and dry. The vehicle should be waxed prior to applying.

Q. What is the best way to apply an auto magnet?
A. Let one edge of the magnet contact the vehicle in the desired position. Then let the magnetic power do the work as it puts the sign into place from the edge where you started to the edge of the opposite. If the magnet is not exactly where you want it, peel it off, reposition the starting edge and repeat. Make sure that the entire surface of magnet is smoothly against the vehicle with no air pockets underneath. In winter the temperature of the magnet should be about 50 degrees f during installation, but the temperature of the vehicle surface does not matter.

Q. Do any surfaces present problems?
A. Care should be taken with wood grain paneling and metalllic finishes. Such surfaces should be checked weekly for the first 90 days of use. A generous waxing of both the surface where the magnet will be placed and the back of the magnet itself will help prevent damage.

Q. What magnet maintenance is recommended?
A. Remove the magnet weekly and wipe dry both the magnetic side and the surface of the vehicle. During warmer humid weather it is recommended to remove the magnet every three to four days. This keeps moisture from collecting, which can potentially damage a vehicle's surface. Simply wash it with warm water and mild detergent. Remove magnet after snowfall and rain – wipe dry.

There is no warranty expressed or implied against loss of signs or damage to vehicle surfaces, as factory has no control over how signs are cared for, altered, stored, and/or used, or the surface to which the signs are applied.
